DESCRIPTION OF THE NEW FFA CDE TEAM PROBLEM SOLVING ACTIVITY

(45 points)

"Teams advancing to the semi-final and final rounds will complete a team problem solving activity in lieu of the minutes. Teams will be provided a short parliamentary procedure scenario outlining a practical problem. The team will have 30 minutes to write a short solution to specific page and line numbers in Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised. All team members are to provide their own copy of the most current edition of Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised."

DESCRIPTION OF THE NEW PROBLEM SOLVING ACTIVITY MANUAL

  • There are FIFTY short FFA meeting scenario problems with four difficulty levels in this manual (CD).

  • Students should begin by individually solving problems in the least challenging set, 1-10, (✪ ✫ ✫ ✫) to develop research skills in using an index.

  • After research skills are proficient, students can work in teams of two and then three to find the solution to problems in sets two and three.

  • The FFA six-member team must work together to solve problems 31-50, the most challenging set, (✪ ✪ ✪ ✪) because this will simulate the required CDE activity.

  • The advisor can decide how many scenario problems should be completed within each difficulty rating.

  • There are FIVE multiple-choice quizzes, a FINAL multiple-choice test and answer keys included.
